Beauty (Thought #3)

Wow, I'm getting 2 deep thoughts in half an hour...hmmm
ヘ( ̄^ ̄ ) <-- smartness douche (I'm a girl but whatever)

Anyways so tonight I have a thought on the relativity of beauty. It's one of the reasons why since I realized there was such a thing as relativity of opinion, I thought everything that involved opinion judging was completely retarded. Example: the most beautiful woman of a country. Most annoying things I have ever witnessed in my entire life. I don't know why, it just really annoys me that the judging of about 50 people nominates one woman as the most beautiful person ever or whatever you want to call it.

Some people like plump women, some people like buff men, some people like anorexic individuals, some people prefer thin noses, fat lips, blue eyes, brown hair, pointy ears, gangly legs... Everyone has different preferences: that is why in society, not all girls are hooked up on this one guy/girl and not all boys are hooked up on this one girl/guy (well, except in middle/high school where stereotypes tend to rule). As we mature, we individualize from one another, and our opinions change.

And THAT is why I believe any contest of external appearance that ends up with one winner is entirely stupid, because everyone is beautiful in their own way (well, that's my opinion, I guess). Even a unanimous result doesn't mean anything. Three meager judges who generally all have stereotypical preferences (well, if they're judges in those types of contests) don't hold the whole world's opinion.

I'm not saying there aren't people who are beautiful in everyone's eyes. But a guy may be extremely good looking to everybody, yet that doesn't mean that everyone thinks he is so called "beautiful" (doesn't really fit a guy, but you get the point) because even if he looks good, it doesn't mean he's a good person—and sometimes even the inside can be reflected on the outside.

Don't get me wrong, I'm like any other teenage girl, I can spend hours on end gawking at guys saying "this guy looks good" and "this couple is cute" and "I'm so jealous" and all that lousy crap, but I won't put any importance into it—I'll enjoy being judgmental, but if I ever were to interact with those people I wouldn't put any of my opinions forth, especially if I don't know them.

I have plenty more to say, but for now I can't actually put it into words. Maybe I'll update this post, but I really want to post it tonight, so it won't be "perfect."
I have to sleep, I'm exhausted ( ≖‿≖)

And just for the Hell of it I'm making a fancy signature.

5th Dimension: Books (Thought #2)

Today I thought about the dimension of books. When you read a book, you always have a picture in your head. But if you try to picture the character's face, you just can't. It's like the idea of the characters isn't a sight, or a smell, or any sensory feeling, but rather a huge compilations of feelings intertwined with a vague image.

For example, if a character you liked turns out to be evil, your idea of him or her will completely change (even their imagery) and when you try to picture their face, it won't be different as an image but they will seem uglier anyways, or more sly looking (or however you imagine them to be.)

I don't know if it's like that for all people. For example, I can't ever get a clear idea of characters, but when I read the description of a place, I see it so clearly, I can smell the smells described, I can almost reach into my mind and touch it. I could even draw it. Places are inscribed in my memory, when I read.

How do you perceive events in books?

If you're a girl, you may be more likely to get dreamy about romantic situations, or if you're a boy, you may feel the rush of adrenaline in a fight scene (personally I feel both), however, although both those feelings seem so simple, they are quite fascinating: the fact that one could get such intense feelings at the sight of a mere group of words is in itself almost crazy.

Of course, there are more or less intense readers: people who love to read may have more intense feelings, and people who love to read AND read fast may have clearer images. I personally love to read and I do it extremely fast. Slower readers or people who dislike reading may get less into it and feel practically nothing—but generally, when you dislike reading, well... you don't do it. Seems obvious... (๏̯͡๏)

I do often wonder how the brain is able to get such a powerful idea of what I'm reading. Maybe it's like dreams; apparently, (or so I read in a random article) dreams are hard to remember of because they aren't compilations of sights, sounds, smells, or any sensory feelings, but compilations of feelings (that's where I got the idea of what the mind's eye was... y'follow?). I haven't actually made any research for any of my blog entries and never will, because this isn't some documentation blog, but rather a blog where I express random ideas.

On a less scientific note: so far nobody's really read my blog, but it's a good way for me to express myself. I also really want to share my ideas with the world :) I'm trying to find a way to promote this so that more people will read it, but I was aiming toward a more general crowd, not necessarily people who know me... Oh well, this hopefully will turn out well.

If anybody reads this, could you tell your friends about it? I'd like to get more of an audience.

Thanks!

4th dimension: Music (Thought #1)

Music is the door to another dimension. If I crank it up a little loud in my earbuds and I hear sounds from the dimension in front of my face, I feel like I'm not even there. Maybe the fifth dimension is music. Maybe when we all finally realize that, we'll see that it is why when we listen to music loud enough, we can feel others in the dimension, their feelings, their very cores... when I listen to music in that way I feel a presence, like a shadow is enveloping me, protecting and understanding me... Maybe others are feeling my pain, somehwere in the world. I can feel it. When I have my earbuds only in one ear it's like I'm torn apart in a strange way. I don't understand this dimension. But I will, soon enough, after enough thinking.

Some people are deeply connected to music, especially during adolescence where the search for who you are can be helped with some truthful lyrics; meaning some people almost have a need to listen to music as often as they can. Therefore music can be categorized as some type of craving, almost like a drug. Now, there is an infinite number of musical categorizations; but I will start with the basics:

Orchestral music is something one might listen to in order to feel a connection between a human and an object (such as the connection of the player to his instrument), so one that might give some hope and perhaps some inexplicably deep feeling of intensity.

Film music, if you've seen the movie, is sometimes to remember some scenes in the movie—or simply to enjoy listening to the music from a different perspective than that of a viewer.

Recent pop: you know it, the latest hit that you've heard on the radio or on someone's iPod. That music generally transports you to one of two worlds: one where you find deep meaning in the lyrics (for example if it applies to your current situation) or one where you like the beat and the musicality of the song.

Dubstep sometimes tells a story (I know of a great user on SoundCloud called primitivedubstep) but lets you fantasize about what it could mean.

Technological music is more of a static genre—more repetitive, if you will—but it sometimes brings the listener into a trance that is almost psychedelic.

Reggae is a genre I am less familiar with. But it generally implies a fun atmosphere, usually bringing a relaxing, cooling feeling to the listener.

Rock usually holds a feeling of rebellion—either telling a past story of misery, or focusing on a longing to be free, or simply expressing rage or depression. It can have a very intimate feeling.

There are countless more genres—but I will stick to these for now. Many people discover themselves in music, I know I have.

This dimension was made for me to discover, and I intend to share it with the world. Which is why while writing this text I thought of starting a blog in which I would introduce my thoughts, however strange they may be...

Maybe books are a dimension, too... But I feel they are less intense than music. Maybe I'll write about it later.

Introduction

First of all: I'm not your average girl. I'm gifted. I lived 7 years in France, moved to America for 5 years, and now I'm moving back to Paris. In France, I skipped 3 grades: kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade. I came to America, but with the difficulties of the level differences, I'm now coming back to France a grade lower than expected; so now I'm entering 9th grade; I'm turning 13 in February 2012.

I decided to make this blog as I was writing a thought I was having on my iPod about dimensions. It's hardly complete; I might spend some more time writing it up. I intended to make this blog to share some thoughts I have with the world—I often have these thoughts that seem to come out of nowhere, but when I tell people they generally find it interesting.

But of course I'm not all serious :P I'm generally really cheery and outgoing, most people find me funny, and although some people think that being gifted changes who I am, they're wrong: I've always been open to every point of view, and I do stupid things like everyone, and sometimes I'm random.

So this is an attempt at making a good blog. I hope you enjoy :)
